While a person can feel better after a good talk with a friend, relative or colleague, for moderate or severe emotional distress, this relief is only temporary. Unresolved problems can lead to depression, anxiety, physical illness and organizational chaos.  Learning to face problems and see them as an opportunity to grow, requires a different set of eyes and ears.  Talking with a trained listener helps alleviate the stress and solve problems before they become unmanageable.
